The upper here is done with two materials in the same shade of dark grey. Shiny, patent-like “Carbon Fiber” is used on the toe, heel and midfoot strap, while regular leather is used to fill in the remainder. To add in some color, Crimson in used as an accent on the vulcanized sole’s stripe and the shoe’s liner. Finally, black accents on the toe and Swoosh finish these off.

New Balance debuted their 875 model in the Freedom Trail pack. They now have a second color-up for the trail boot unless some attendee of the Freedom Trail Launch Party just spilled merlot all over their 875s. The boot is smothered in premium mahogany leather and it sits on a rugged black sole. The sole contrast on the upper resides in the matte metal eyelets.
As usual, New Balance presents a product that is materially sound. Let us know how you feel about the 875 silhouette, this make-up, and if you want to see more 875 colorways.
The East vs. West Rivalry Packs from Nike aren’t being kept stateside, as Japan’s Ueno and Harajuku areas are each being given a Terminator High Premiums in this pack of their own.
Both areas are known as centers of fashion and popular culture, so it’s fitting they each have their own shoe. Both use all black color-ups with minimal accents, including the green trim on the Harajuku pair, which adds some detail to the monochromatic look. For the Ueno pair, a technicolor-esque print is used for the heel panel and liner. Notice that each pair uses a different material make-up, with nylon and pebbled textile for the Ueno and mixed leathers on the Harajuku pair.
