adidas Originals Fortitude Mid

adidas recently debuted the Fortitude Mid sneaker, and it looks like the three stripe brand has plans to continue to with the boot-inspired sneaker. We saw a dark blue and burgundy pair early this year, but the next run uses far brighter colors.

These three colorways surfaced recently at a Las Vegas trade show. Nubuck is used for the toe and panel along the base of the upper, while leather helps around the ankle. Finally, mesh comes in on the toe box and tongue. Cord laces and metal lace loops appear on the lower area of the midfoot. All three shoes utilize a monochromatic upper with neon accents. Navy blue is accented with bright orange laces and a matching midsole, while grey gets help from bright red. The third pair, which comes in black and neon green, offers an aesthetic very similar to the KAWS-designed Nikes, a case which is also helped by the sewn X’s on the forefoot. Look for these in the near future.

Nike Air Structure Triax ‘91 White/Green Blade-Blue

Towards the end of 2009, we showed you this Air Structure Triax ‘91 and told you to look out for it at the beginning of this year. Those of you that commented stated that it was a very fresh colorway. If you are one of those who took a liking to this sneaker, it is now available at Standard for $108.

This Air Structure Triax ‘91, which seems to feature a colorway that has been seen on a Nike Air 180, is ideal for the spring season. The predominately white leather and mesh base is complimented by green blade accents on the top laceholders, sole and tongue/heel panel branding. It also possesses a royal blue outsole giving it a nice color contrast to say the least. As stated earlier, you can purchase a pair now at Standard.

Gourmet - Spring 2010

Gourmet Spring 2010

As the namesake suggests, Gourmet, is one of the few specialized sneaker labels who thrive on providing highly sophisticated sneakers in creative yet subtly classy forms with premium material that will leave sneaker fiends and footwear connoisseurs salivate with desire.

For Spring 2010, Gourmet continues its uncompromising attitude towards excellence and has once agained wowed the crowd with one of their best collections of shoes yet. The best select materials, meticulous attention to construction details and fresh perspective on design reminds all why they first fell in love with Gourmet. Some interesting models to note include the Dicinova which comes in a supple vegetable tanned off-white leather upper with an interesting zigzag cotton lace panel on the side for an interesting, deconstructed, avant-garde look that is slightly reminiscent of Martin Margiela’s work. The Dicinova comes in a chunkier sneaker boot silhouette with a padded ankle collar and moccasin toe, perfect for guys who are seeking something more masculine without compromising on refinery.

Other include the Cinque Epi low-top in a crafter from French calf-tanned epi leather with an interesting lace placket that folds inwards to create an interesting 3D twist that reminds us of a remixed desert boot. The iconic Quattro B is remade in fresh colorways of red ballistic nylon upper with leather liner, and the folks at Gourmet have humorously dubbed it a “TUMI bag on your foot”–and we know how sturdy and wonderful those rollers are. Taking another opulent plunge at luxury, the Nove L with a special ankle strap designer at heel is now recreated with a lizard printed full grain leather, true to luxury high fashion.

The Spring 2010 collection is now available at various retailers such as proper, so look out for them as you start your shoe shopping for the season!

Nike Air Force 1 “Pro Bowl”

If you feel the Nike Trainer SC 2010 “Pro Bowl” didn’t do the NFL’s all-star game justice, this Air Force 1 may be the shoe you’re looking for. These were a Friends and Family release, so an unspecified amount were created and handed to those close to last weekend’s big game.

The entire upper is done with black 3M. Teal piping and contrast stitching accent the dark build, while a bright pink Swoosh is made out of suede. To match that branding, the heel uses the same material and the “Air” along the midsole utilizes the same hue. On the lateral heel, “La Familia de Nike” is lasered on, while the state of Florida is seen on the medial side. The same text also appears on the tongue. It’s safe to say these will remain limited to the most connected of collectors, but would you grab a pair if you could?

Nike Bespoke Air Force 1 by JoeJoe

This Air Force 1 by JoeJoe, who kept things clean when designing his personal one-of-ones, was recently delivered to the Nike Bespoke studio.

JoeJoe relied on material choices to make the uppers pop, as black suede is contrasted by matching patent leather on the toe, midfoot and heel panels. To contrast the all dark upper, a light Swoosh is added into the mix. Finally, the entire shoe sits on an icy sole. Compared to one of the last Bespokes we saw, does this shoe prove that sometimes simple is best?

Air Jordan 9 “Silver Anniversary”

The Air Jordan 9 is the second confirmed major retro silhouette to release in 2010. After the run of 6s, the AJ9 “Citrus” is expected to drop, and from the looks of it, so will this “Silver Anniversary” colorway.

We checked out this shoe awhile back, but marqueesole just made a size run available early. The uppers are done in all white, with tumbled leather comprising both the midfoot and mudguard panels. Touches of silver are used on the heel labels, surrounding the Jumpman logo and on the “23″ embroidery. Many readers listed this model at the top of the “Silver Anniversary” run of colorways alongside the Air Jordan 11, so even at a markup rate, these may go quick.
