Gourmet - Spring 2010

Gourmet Spring 2010

As the namesake suggests, Gourmet, is one of the few specialized sneaker labels who thrive on providing highly sophisticated sneakers in creative yet subtly classy forms with premium material that will leave sneaker fiends and footwear connoisseurs salivate with desire.

For Spring 2010, Gourmet continues its uncompromising attitude towards excellence and has once agained wowed the crowd with one of their best collections of shoes yet. The best select materials, meticulous attention to construction details and fresh perspective on design reminds all why they first fell in love with Gourmet. Some interesting models to note include the Dicinova which comes in a supple vegetable tanned off-white leather upper with an interesting zigzag cotton lace panel on the side for an interesting, deconstructed, avant-garde look that is slightly reminiscent of Martin Margiela’s work. The Dicinova comes in a chunkier sneaker boot silhouette with a padded ankle collar and moccasin toe, perfect for guys who are seeking something more masculine without compromising on refinery.

Other include the Cinque Epi low-top in a crafter from French calf-tanned epi leather with an interesting lace placket that folds inwards to create an interesting 3D twist that reminds us of a remixed desert boot. The iconic Quattro B is remade in fresh colorways of red ballistic nylon upper with leather liner, and the folks at Gourmet have humorously dubbed it a “TUMI bag on your foot”–and we know how sturdy and wonderful those rollers are. Taking another opulent plunge at luxury, the Nove L with a special ankle strap designer at heel is now recreated with a lizard printed full grain leather, true to luxury high fashion.

The Spring 2010 collection is now available at various retailers such as proper, so look out for them as you start your shoe shopping for the season!
